Robert Carr (born 1956) is credited as the architect of GO Corporation's PenPoint OS. He was profiled in the book Programmers at Work (ISBN 0-914845-71-3), where he was credited as the author of Framework.

Robert Carr is mostly known for being the inventor of the Framework integrated office suite. Framework was a best selling PC software package for several years in the mid 1980s and was notable for combining several applications in a seamless environment and the first product to integrate live outlining with word processing.
